April 28 - 6 May: Odyssey Productions presents ROUGH CROSSING by Tom Stoppard. Few modern playwrights serve a fizzier champagne of verbal wit than Tom Stoppard; as revealed most recently in "Shakespeare in Love". ROUGH CROSSING is a farce that is full of frivolity indulging in a plot run amok. The co-authors, the composer and most of the cast of a comedy destined for Broadway are simultaneously trying to finish and rehearse the play while crossing the Atlantic on an ocean liner. They must come up with a new ending for the musical before they get there. A new beginning and middle wouldn't hurt either. Fast paced, witty and hilarious, Tom Stoppard weaves an increasingly amazing pattern of verbal misunderstandings, eccentric character development, showbiz spectacle, and seagoing hazards, all of which come to occupy equal importance in a plot with so many twists even the authors can't keep them straight...
