MEET AT THE P.A. TOURISM CENTRE
at 10:00am on Monday March 5, to Join in the March
Day 258 of the 500 Day Walk - PRINCE ALBERT Saskatchewan

On Monday, March 5, 2001, George Marcello, liver transplant recipient, will be visiting Prince Albert as part of the Canada 500 Day Walk. You are invited to join George as he walks from the Tourism Information Centre (3700 2nd Avenue West) to City Hall Square.
    - Police escort will be provided along the route: 2nd Avenue, 15th Street and Central Avenue to City Hal
    - Local walkers are welcome to join in.

    WEBSITE: http://www.stepbystep.ca/

The walk commenced in June 2000 in Toronto and will finish in Toronto in December 2001. The route will take George Marcello and the road crew through Ontario, the Prairies, and to Victoria, British Columbia. From there they will fly to St. John's, Newfoundland where they will continue the walk through the Maritimes, Quebec, Ottawa and the final steps will be in Toronto. The venture will take over 500 days to complete in order to make sure that George and the road crew cover every major community in Canada.

The Canada 500 Day Walk is an important event for Step By Step because it is the vehicle to reach millions of Canadians in order to create the awareness of the desperate need to increase the rate of organ and tissue donations in our country. Step By Step is confident that the walk will create tremendous spirit and will motivate Canadians to support the donation of organs and tissue, to aid families in their grieving process and to give hope to families on the waiting lists for transplants.

An official Olympic torch is being carried throughout the walk in order to promote and generate the spirit of giving for the continuance of life for others. It is the goal of Step By Step to have the involvement and support of hundreds of individuals, corporations, organizations and politicians across Canada to share in the passing of this torch from community to community.
