    The Quilting Program - rebuilding people by recycling clothing Quality patchwork quilts are produced out of clothing from the AS GOOD AS NEW store. The program aims to develop self-esteem and self-confidence as clients learn job skills. In a safe and supportive atmosphere, persons coping with mental illnesses are assisted as they cross the bridge from the hospital wards to the regular work-force.     Kathy Bird is an aboriginal artist and psychotherapist and counselor who has been exploring healing involving the whole being, body, mind, soul. This exhibition with large scale, gestural watercolours is based on human energies and feelings. Their transposition to the paper is a subconscious personal process. The images though are accessible on many levels and invite association. The pieces will be unframed and the gallery space will function as an installation, with dialogues and links between the pieces.
