Iris was born and grew up on a farm south of Stony Plain. She married Bob Goebel and moved to Prince Albert in 1964. She is a mother of two sons and a daughter. The beauty and changing seasons of northern Saskatchewan have inspired most of her paintings. Iris began with a Painting for Enjoyment session taught by George Furniss, taking further instruction from Garry Thurber and a first year University art class offered at the P.A. Arts Centre. She works with oil paints, watercolors, ink and pencil. Her love for nature and a desire to express that love are the basis for her works of art. For more information, please phone Christina at 764-7200. Victoria Hospital Cafeteria - 1200-24th Street East

Patrick Dowling's work, a hybrid of poetry and painting, represents an intertwined experience of memory and place. The poems and paintings give visual and textual expression to a numinous spiritual experience of the prairie landscape and to social issues embedded in a specific topography. Patrick Dowling received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1979. Since then, he has worked at a variety of art-related occupations including teaching graphic arts in Ontario for twenty-one years. Dowling recently moved back to Saskatchewan to reside in Shaunavon. Thanks to the Mendel Art Gallery for the loan of this exhibition.
Tom and Michelle's photography demonstrates the effect that the elements of texture, light, shadows and what the eye can see BEYOND can have. They use their talents to produce photographs that have an emotional impact on the viewer. Both of their works vary with many subjects: abandoned homesteads and farms, farm animals, wildlife, landscapes, scenery, flowers and more. Michelle and Tom are amateur photographers. They have been taking photographs for over twenty years. They are both self-taught, striving to bring their own perspectives and points of view to the photograph.
