  • Prince Albert Historical Museum (10 River Street East)will be open mid May to August from 10:00 am to 6:00pm daily, Sundays until 9:00pm. Tea room and balcony overlooking river on upper level. For tours or for more information call 953-4863 or 764-2992.

  • John Diefenbaker House Museum (246-19 Street West) open mid May until Labour Day from 10:00 am to 6:00pm, and Sundays to 9:00pm. For tours or information call 953-4863 or 764-2992.

  • Rotary Museum of Police and Corrections (3700-2nd Avenue West- across from the Tourist Information Centre) will be open for viewing from mid May to Labour Day. Interesting displays on corporal punishment, weapons, daring escape attempts. Hours 10:00am to 8:00pm daily.

  • Evolution of Education Museum (3700-2nd Avenue West) will be open for viewing from mid May to Labour Day. The Claytonville School house was moved to this site and displays a one-room school house of the early 1900s. Hours 10:00am to 8:00pm daily.

  • Frank Dunn Pool - Registrations are now open for Children's Summer Swimming Lesson Program scheduled for 29 June to 22 August. After May 30, register directly at pool. Public swimming every night of the week 7:30-9:00pm. Wednesday Adult and family night. Saturday and Sunday Public Swim 1:00-3:00pm and 6:30-8:30, Adult and Family Swim from 3:00-5:00pm.   • June to August: Start Planning your trip to Candle Lake now. The United Church Camp Capawingo will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a Campers Reunion weekend scheduled for August 1 and 2 at Candle Lake. All past and present Camp Capawingo enthusiasts are invited to attend to relive their Capawingo days. Activities include swimming, singing, eating, campfire gatherings and church.   • June to August: New Skateboard Park opens and will run until end of August. Located in the South Stewart Arena Parking Lot at PAEX Grounds. Ramps, fun boxes, half-pipe ramp, and more for skateboarders all ages. Some supervision provided, bring your own skateboard and safety equipment.   • June to August: YWCA is now accepting registration for its annual Taste of Saskatchewan Homemade Wine Tasting Competition to be held September 25 at the Marlboro Inn.   • June TBA: Nature P.A. - Wildflower walk usually held at the Burt residence, will take place after the first good rainfall. Also in the program is the annual walk around MacDowell Bog. An interesting view of nature - wild orchids and other special flora and fauna. If there is no rain, walk is not interesting. Again, walk will be after the first good rainfall.   • June 1 to September: United Church Women invitation to Women for participation in proposed Wellness Workshop tentatively planned for October 3, sponsored by the Women of Calvary United Church for Women. Wellness: Body, Mind and Soul is the title of the workshop, leadership will be provided by Rev. Dawn Roke (Regina) - massage therapist, Winona Sennar - therapist, and Rev. Sandy Scott. To make this event happen, please register or express interest by calling Ruby Andrusiak tel. 764-2425. Depending on response, other issues of interest or concern to women may also be explored in future workshops.

  • June 1-5: Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Week. Join this local non profit organization in a week of events with proceeds to the Special Olympics Society of Saskatchewan. June 2 - Torch Run Day - more than 75 runners from all P.A. Law Enforcement agencies will be leaving from Memorial Square at 7:30am on the way to Saskatoon. They will be escorted with lights and sirens up 2nd Avenue and out of town. The run will end in Saskatoon at 4:30pm at City Hall when they hand over the torch to Saskatoon City Police. Donations and pledges welcome and can be dropped off at Prince Albert City Police Station, local RCMP detachment, or SERM P.A. Field Office. June 4th have coffee at Madison Inn, Vera's Cafe Marlboro Inn, Sears Cafeteria, Carlton Bakery in Prince Albert, Mom's Cafe in Meath Park, Country Crossroads in Wakaw, and Riverside Cafe in St. Louis. A portion of the coffee sales in these restaurants will be donated to the Torch Run.

  • June 1: The Prince Albert Wood Turner's Guild was formed to help promote and advance the art of wood turning. The Guild meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at SIAST Woodland Campus, Carpentry Shop. Anyone interested can join or come and find out about the Guild. Guests and members provide programs. The Guild also hosts special events, shows and educational sessions throughout the year. For more information contact Doug Corrigal 763-2135.

  • June 2: Prince Albert Chapter of Aglow of Canada, non denominational Christian Womens Group windup coffee and desert meeting at the Thriftlodge, Banquet Room, at 6:45. Guest speaker Darlene Prychak, from Saskatoon will speak on the power of the holy spirit and how god is setting women free from bondage.   • June 3, 10, 17, 24: Prince Albert Road Runners fun runs all summer until October, every Wednesday. Everyone welcome, runs paced to the slowest or newest runner to help encourage new members. Meet at Cosmo Lodge, Little Red River Park at 6:00, run starts around 6:15. No fees, just come out and meet club members and fellow enthusiasts.   • June 3: Mid-Pro Rock and Gem Society bimonthly meetings (first wednesday and third Friday from September to June) at the Prince Albert Arts Centre (1010 Central Avenue) 7:00pm. Anyone interested in taking up a lapidary (rock hounding) hobby is welcome to attend.   • June 4 and 18: Nature P.A. walk meets at the Diefenbaker Bridge at 6:30pm. There is limited parking close to Diefenbaker bridge on Hwy 55 East.   • June 6-7: Blue Knights SK III (international Police Motorcycle Club) Annual Toy Ride, this year is from Prince Albert to the La Ronge Hospital. Leaving in groups from the Madison Inn, Saturday from 9:00-10:00am. Registration Fee - one new toy suitable for children up to age 12. Riders will have chances to compete for prizes in the Poker Run from Weyakwin to LaRonge and other events. Toy presentation to the Children's Ward, La Ronge Hospital will be Saturday afternoon. If you are not a biker but would like to donate a new toy, please bring it to the Madison Inn Saturday from 9:00-10:00am. Pancake Breakfast Sunday before starting for home. Camping available at Nut Point Campgrounds. Proceeds from the run go towards the purchase of a VCR for the Children's Ward. Anyone with a Motorcycle is invited to participate in this event.   • June 7-8: 4-H Finished Beef Show and Sale at the PAEX. Approximately 175 4-H'rs from Prince Albert and area come together to compete in their knowledge of 4-H.   • June 9: Sports Woman of the Year Award Annual Banquet at the P.A. Exhibition Centre. Guest Speaker Carol Beck. Cocktails 6:30, Dinner 7:30, Irish Dancers will provide entertainment.   • June 12-14: Northern Image Photographers present Weekend in the Woods Five, at McPhee Lake. Slide shows, instruction and guided group tours through McPhee and Waskesiu Lake areas will guarantee great photos. Tent, trailer and RV sites available at Marcel's Campground. Registration Fee $85 includes Park fees, tour transportation and meals. Bring camera gear, film and a desire to improve your photography.   • June 13: Volunteers are needed for the Emergency Social Service of Registration and Enquiries. Volunteers will help in times of disasters such as forest fires, blizzards, industrial accidents and will assist in reuniting families, registering evacuees,and locating missing persons after a disaster. Ability to speak Crede or Dene would be an asset. Interested volunteers are encouraged to attend a workshop at the Red Cross Building from 9:00am to 5:00pm.   • June 13-14: Red River Equestrian Centre Show (Highway 2 North, 3 miles north 1/2 mile east of P.A., 1st right after Smokey the Bear). Open to all contestants, and will be held rain or shine.   • June 14: Mid-Pro Rock and Gem Society Gravel Pit Picnic at Lily Plain Gravel Pit, (Highway 302, two miles past Lily Plain Hall). All Rock Hounds invited. Meet at South Hill Mall parking lot at 10:00am, beside the ice cream stand. Picnic lunch provided by club, bring your own lawnchair, and if you don't like paper plates and plastic, bring eating utensils. An interesting day of rock picking, games and fun for all.   • June 14: Prince Albert Road Runners presents the Longest Day Race (Timex Race Series #3) Competition Run. Saskatchewan Athletics Sanctioned 5km and 10km run starts and ends on MacIntosh Drive, in front of front door of Berezowski School. Pre-registration preferred by phone or fax to Phil Banwarth 763-8362, school 764-5506, fax 764-0322. Also Registration Table on run day, opens at 8:00am, race starts at 9:00am sharp.   • June 15: P.A. Christian Women's After 5 Club meets at the Golf and Curling Club at 7:00 pm. Enjoy a delicious dinner. Carrie McCoshen, Program Supervisor with Parks and Recreation will let you know what is happening in Prince Albert during the summer. Guest speaker, Eleanor Beaumont of Saskatoon will share her personal pilgrimage which includes her love of life, family and travel. Music by Carlton High School Student Tara Miller.
