Return Engagement

A play by Bernard Slade
Performed at Ecole Valois Auditorium

It all happens in a motel room: Set in the early 50's - the curtain rises in Act One with a bellboy and a drunk actress in bed together on the morning of her wedding to a rich business man - followed by a Polish woman choosing a beefcake carpenter to father her child - and an acid tongued columnist and his cool psychotherapist wife on the verge of breakup. The following scene's of twenty, twenty-five and thirty years later reveal a hilarious and poignant outcome of those initial events. Chipped teeth, bed-wrestling, mistaken identities and food-poisoning are all standard fare as we see the characters in all the glory of living their lives. Everything is connected in "Return Engagements" and we find out just how connected they are amid a series of great one-liners and farcical situations. Written by Bernard Slade - creator of the Partridge Family TV Series and directed by award winning director David Mulgrew, this is one show not to miss. Tickets are available at Harold's IGA - 200 28th Street East.

Not With My Daughter

A Play by by Jay Christopher
Directed by Stan Danbrook
Performed at École Valois

Will Gray (Dave Mulgrew) suddenly has a problem. His eighteen year old daughter (Jolene Palmer) appears at his “swinging singles” apartment door. It seems Will and his neighbor, Rip Tracey (Howard DeLong) – a velvet-voiced radio Dee-Jay have a penchant for juggling girls like antacid tablets. Poor Will has a a go-go girl (Mary Fabian) in the living room – with her motor running – and a devoted young lady (Cynthia LaRose) in the bedroom – but that’s O.K. since she loves him. Rip has a girl in his apartment already when Will calls on him to also entertain the go-go girl. When Will’s Daughter appears to complicate matters – not only are explanations in order – but his daughter has a taxi cab driver (Gordon Topping) in tow and problems of her own. How is it all resolved? Come and see.

Call the Prince Albert Community Players Clubhouse at 306-763-2002 for tickets and information. Tickets available at Harold's IGA.

No Sex Please, We’re British

A Play by Anthony Marriott and Allstair Foot
Performed at École Valois

Prince Albert Community Players latest production, "No Sex Please, We're British" takes place in an apartment over a sub-branch of the National United Bank in Royal Windsor, England. A young bride, Frances Hunter (Sandra Anderson) innocently mail orders some Scandinavian glassware. But instead of the glassware she and her husband, Peter (Thomas Porter) receive pornography, first photographs , then books, films and eventually two hookers, Susan (Marnie Anderson) and Barbara (Karen McLeod) arrive threatening the couple's happiness. Further complications arise with the arrival of Peter's mother, Eleanor (Cynthia LaRose), his boss, Leslie Bromhead (John Salamon), a visiting bank inspector, Mr. Needham (John Beatty), a nosy police superintendent, (Larry Schlosser) and a mixed up and accident prone friend, Brian (Clark Rensberry) whose help in getting rid of the porno ends up making things worse.
Award winning director David Mulgrew expertly bundles up and explodes the energy of the play with each twist and turn of the plot. The continual slamming of doors, running up and down the stairways by a talented cast makes this farce an energetic laugh riot from start to finish.
