The race begins at the Weldon Ferry and after a short but very steep climb out of the South Saskatchewan River Valley the route begins to wind through farmland and after a few kms you will be going in a Westerly direction.
"Aid Station n.1" is just before 10km mark and this station will be outfitted with its associated dropbox along with, water, bandaids, vaseline, toilet paper (sounds cute eh) and some very cooperative volunteers. Please remember that these volunteers have been instructed to distribute water and other aid items, but you "must" be prepared to assist yourself as much as possible at these stations and throughout the run. At around the 14.5km point you will turn right off of HWY 302, and this will be indicated by threee orange arrows on the pavement pointing to your right, now you will be onto a forest trail and travelling North, please stay on the most travelled trail. You will see several markings with red surveyors tape and this will indicate that you are on the right track. After 4.5km you will reach the end of the trail and "Aid Station n.2" is outfitted the same as station number one. You are now at the 19km mark. From here you turn around and head back the same route and when you reach the Hwy turn right running West. After a couple of kms you will be out of the forest area and into farm land. "Aid Station n.3" is set up at the 30km mark. This station will be outfitted the same as number one and two but in addiction will have sliced oranges and bananas also some defizzed coke and if it is a very cold morning we will have some of Albert's coffee (sorry Dan no popcorn and beer). Well with only twenty kms to go we can enjoy the harvest sights and sounds and even a few Canadian Geese will alter thier flight pattern to view a touch of insanity. "Aid Station n.4" is after the Marathon distance but I like to tell everyone that its the 42km mark just for fun, headgames and all. this station will be outfitted the same as number three. I have made arrangements for extra runners to be at this station in case some of you would like company for the last few kms. As we enter the City of Prince albert most of us are tired and mentally a little confused so please pay special attention to traffic. The corner of 15th Ave. East and 15th Street East is where you will enter Prince Albert and you must turn left. This will have you facing South. From here on please follow the lime green/yellow arrows that are on the road. You must run South for a couple of city blocks until you are at 22nd Street East. At this point turn left then right onto a bike path. Just follow this path (and the green/yellow arrows), then go over a bridge and in a minute or two you will see the finish line. So enjoy it. Good running to all.
