Sat 13 Dec : This is it... today we go to Saskatoon where we will spend the night at the Saskatoon inn. Tomorrow we have to get up at 4:00am to catch the 6:00am flight to San Diego. Unfortunately it is not a direct flight. We have to land in Minneapolis and change plane. We are still packing and we have to prepare the house for our absence (close the water, shut down water heater, security alarm, etc.). A rush has appeared on all my body in the last couple of days or so. We believe that it is part of the detox process. I feel really lousy this morning. I did not have a great sleep. I need an early nap to get some energy. My morning weight is 68 kg.

Fri 12 Dec : All day is dedicated to my computer backup... we will be away for a month plus is year end and I need to burn all the year's info on CDs. A spent the morning contacting businesses in San Diego to find a Ricochet modem (Ricochet is a new fast Internet wireless network available in San Diego and Denver and soon in many other US cities... including Clearwater). In the end, after numerous phone calls I found someone willing to deliver the modem to my hotel in San Ysidro. Eileen is working on all kind of snacks and food that we can carry with us. She has all the intention to keep me on the raw organic diet... as usual I am not so sure. Once I get out of the house I get all kind of temptations. Last night we have a nice/short Xmas get together with my new family... the Ramages. Tonight is my other Canadian family dropping in for a short Xmas visit... the Monkmans. There are more people we wanted to see but we simply don't have the time or the energy. We are always so tired and running late on the tasks. On top of the list is my program/therapy that we always have to play catch up. My morning weight is 68 kg.

Thu 11 Dec : Today I did a new blood test. Haematology and Urinalysis are ready online. The Chemistry is not ready for a week or so. I will ask a friend to pick it up for me at the Community Clinic and email it to me. Eileen's final special raw disk of the week is SUNNY NORI ROLL-UPS (raw Nori sheet, SUNNY PATE, sliced Green Olives, Wasabi, Sunflower sprouts, Red Clover sprouts, thin slices of Red Pepper and Carrots). Very nice rolls and very filling. My morning weight is 68 kg.

Wed 10 Dec : I am up early today. I had a broken sleep last night. I kept waking up all night and passing a lot of gas. Ian Shillington N.D. is back and we inform him of our decision to go to Mexico as well as to stop Blood Detox tea. I worked hard on my accounting for the past two days. I can still do things but I get tired easy and everything seams to take longer. I should finish what is left today. I am still investigating my options for Internet connection in San Diego. It is my intention to keep everything working as usual. We will be staying in an hotel on the border with Mexico and every day cross the border to go to the Tijuana clinic for the treatment. Last night I get to taste again KINDA-PIZZA. My taste buds are in heaven. I had a great run this morning. My morning weight after run and shower is 68 1/2 kg.

Tue 9 Dec : Today I go to see Evan and get a nice hair cut. My hair had once again gone real long. I am having a good day and I am in a good mood. I am finally accepting the idea of the Mexico treatment. I am trying to set my mind into the idea that this a sort of holiday for us. We are both so tired and need rest. Eileen is working without a rest to keep up with everything. She also continues with the special raw menu week. Last night was KINDA-PIZZA. A small round raw cracker works as the pizza dough and then mixed vegy are the topping. Very good recipe. Evening weight is 70 kg after the pizzas...

Mon 8 Dec : Yesterday I just could not deal with the Blood Detox tea. I only had it once and made me really sick. I only used the Blood Detox tincture hidden in grape juice. I feel I reached the limit and my body is rejecting it. Last night great dinner again... the remaining of the CHILI RELLENOS. After dinner new munchies for TV watching: Buckwheat and Parsnip. Today I have a strong urge to use toilette on a continual bases. It only comes a little bit at the time. My morning weight after run and shower is 68 kg.

Sun 7 Dec : I start Week 9 of the program. I am back to the hated Blood Detox tea. Fortunately the kitchen fan is working now and the smell of the tea doesn't fill the house. I am sensitive to this tea not only for the taste, but also its smell. Last night Eileen topped again her success with a new recipe: CHILI RELLENOS (see recipe page). Yesterday day was a good day off, busy in the house making some order. All done in the basement and main floor. Today is the second storey (office) that needs order. Next week is going to be so crazy getting ready for the trip. I still have accounting to do and a couple of taps that decided to leak. My evening weight is 69 1/2 kg.

Sat 6 Dec : Today is a better day... it always happens when you touch the bottom and push yourself up again. Yesterday I had a consistent discharge of what looks like tissue/blood... the colon tumor is opening up (see right photo). I really wish it all bloody comes out this way. Please don't expect always pretty pictures. I am not going through a pretty process. I am just doing my best to hold on and make sense in all that is happening. Something that has been with me all my life is the wanting to discover and experience... and I am trying to keep this attitude though all this... at times I slip. Yes I feel much better but still I don't want to talk about the Mexico trip... I get my mind off for the weekend and focus on the things to do in the house. Eileen is very busy in the kitchen preparing new raw recipes. You can see what she made this past week in the Raw Recipe page: RAW CRACKERS with SUNNY PATE server with RED CLOVER SPROUTS covered with BASIC PATE. My morning weight is 68 kg.

Fri 5 Dec : We have just a week to do many things. We still want to leave the house with a little bit of order after all the work that has been done. The kitchen cabinets are all up... with the exception of few missing doors that we will get on our return in January. The kitchen looks beautiful. It has a very contemporary look. Exactly what we wanted. Yesterday I enjoyed adding the final touch... stainless steel cabinet handles. We still have plenty of things to move into the basement... and will do our best during the week. I keep getting the question from friends if I have pains... I have witnessed pains, real pains that Cora had just over 5 years ago. So I can say that what I have is discomfort... I have the urge to go to the toilet that goes on and on. I don't have the cramps I have experienced in 2000 before the surgery. This morning I have a down moment... after all the work for 2 months getting these liver results... I am questioning if I should go back and enjoy the food I crave. This morning during my run I had the taste of peanut butter in my mouth (start laughing if you wish). Last night in a movie on TV someone was eating eggs and sausage breakfast and I felt an acute loss. I have learned to know that my moods go up and down. I guess I am also scared to be away from home. At home all is easy and comfortable. In Mexico we will spend our nights in an hotel and we will have a kitchenette in the room for our cooking (what cooking ??? I wish... for our raw mixing). I will be in the clinic every weekday for the treatment. Did I say that I am down today ??? I am angry is more accurate !!!

Thu 4 Dec : The CT Scan Nov 28 is showing more growth of the liver tumors as well as 2 new ones. Our naturopathic therapy doesn't seem to be fast enough to deal with the speed of growth of the liver tumors. On Dec 14 we are flying off to Tijuana (Mexico) to get a treatment at Dr. Castillo clinic (www.drcastillo.com). Dr. Castillo combines the practice of both traditional and alternative medicine. I am not able to tell you details on the treatment as I wont know until I get there and have a proper consultation. We have booked the air ticket for Dec 14 to return Jan 11. We will miss our white Xmas. Yesterday in Saskatoon we had a consultation with Dr. Peter Lau (urologist). My right kidney is not a concern at this time. So we can focus our energies on the liver. To take our mind off things we went shopping for kitchen cabinet handles as well as looked for a gas fire place. We now have 10 days to put our business in order and fly to Mexico until January 11. My evening weight after the hot bath is 69 kg.

Wed 3 Dec : We are off to Saskatoon for another consultation with Dr. Peter Lau (urologist) about my kidney. I don't have time to run this morning as we have to be there by 11:30am. The bowl movement in the last couple of days was good. I still have to go very often but so does Eileen... is the raw vegy diet. I have presence of what looks like mucus in my stool (or would it be old tissue ?). We have copy of the film of my latest CT scan but not copy of the report. They had to correct part of it and it will not be released until today. They promised to fax it to Dr. Lau's office in time for my consultation. I finally have the CEA results for the 25 Nov blood test... is up again: 76.9 ug/L. (25 Nov increase 15.5 ug/L, 10 Nov increase 17.5 ug/L, 23 Oct increase 14.7 ug/L, 4 Sep increase 19 ug/L since 13 Mar). My morning weight is 69 kg.

Tue 2 Dec : Rick from RKX is back and working on installing the kitchen cabinets... another chapter is closing in this house project. Good morning run. The raw vegy diet is getting harder as the winter sits in. I have to increase the teas and soups to compensate for the lack of heat in the food. My evening weight after the bath is 69 1/2/kg.

Mon 1 Dec : I feel the weekend rest helped. I did my morning run. The thermometer shows -18c. The view of the river along the river path I run onto is incredible and inspiring. My morning run is still a magic moment for me. Even more when I get a couple of days off of it. Eileen keeps experimenting in the kitchen. She is trying to bring new taste to our food. She found a book, the Raw Gourmet by Nomi Shannon, and is full of recipes... all raw, including a Kind of Pizza (an all raw pizza)... I have my reservations until I can taste it. I am sorry but there is no other cuisine like the Italian that is so rich in variety. Today I start the 8 week of the program. I keep the Intestinal Cleanse #1 to 3 pills as I am afraid of constipation. My bowl movement is still very easy and very often and want to keep it this way. My evening weight after the hot bath is 69 kg.
