Grace Campbell Gallery - Library, 125-12th Street East. Tel. 306-763-8322
Opening: Tuesday, April 1, 7:00-8:30 pm. This exhibit is a sampling of the extensive photographic collection of Prince Albert photographer, Dr. David Dice. He has photographed the landscape of Canada for over thirty years. Although, this exhibition focuses on images of Saskatchewan, it includes photographs from each of Canada’s ten provinces. The pictures, in both colour and black and white, represent the landscape and flora of Canada in all four seasons. Dr. Dice works with both black and white and colour photography. He first began black and white photography while a student at the University of Saskatchewan in 1966. As a graduate student studying the effect of light on chemical reactions, he was intrigued by the artistic role of light in our perception of colour and texture. After completing his doctoral studies in chemistry, he moved to Ontario for a year. He found that he wanted more time to be close to nature, so left chemistry and obtained a degree in education, which allowed him to return to Saskatchewan. He has continued to photograph extensively throughout Saskatchewan, especially in the north, as well as the rest of Canada. Little Gallery - 1010 Central Ave. Tel. 306-763-7080
